Most people need a filling at one time or another. It's one of the most common restorations performed on damaged teeth or when a tooth is partially decayed or chipped. A filling is just what it sound like, it fills in the damaged space in the tooth and prevents further decay or breakdown from advancing.

The natural looking tooth colored or “white” fillings are a durable and beautiful alternative to the regular mercury silver fillings, which are unsightly and turn black as they age.

If the area of decay or breakdown is too large or severe, then an option is to perform a porcelain or resin type material called an inlay or onlay, that will be made in the laboratory and bonded in place to make the tooth whole and strong again.

If your goal is to create an incredible smile, a tooth colored filling may be your best alternative.

The Treatment Plan

You will need to have at least one appointment.

1- You will be give a local anesthetic to numb the area. We will remove the decay and all of the old filling (if cosmetic modification is required).
2- The tooth will be washed and dried and the white filling material will be put into the tooth and shaped.
3- White fillings are hardened by pointing a blue light at the material used.
4- Finally, the filling will be trimmed and polished.
